In my spare time

I have been doodling for a long time (I remember that there more drawings in my notebooks than homework 😅). My drawings are mainly character focused.
Around 2018 I bought my first drawing tablet, and the step to digital artwork. The software I use it Krita, an open source alternative to Photoshop (and little bit of Illustrator).
I have been posting most of work on DeviantArt over the years under the name Floreanart. I'll post most of my highlights on 044Portfolio as well.

Project BoundWave
Project BoundWave can best be described as my sinkhole hobby project. I've spend quite some time on it, it still hasn't gone anywhere, and that's completely okay. I see it more as a free time project that I can unwind in without any concequences.

What is BoundWave?

At the moment, Boundwave aims to be a (audio)visual story about bounds; invasive, alien-like, beings that inhabit some human bodies.
Set in the norhtern provinces of the Netherlands during the mid-2000s, we follow a man nicknamed: Ace, who has to learn how to deal with his bound: Loque. Their dynamic is quite entertaining, with Ace being a grumpy knucklhead, and Loque being more innocent and optimistic.
The story will consist of elements from the X-files, mid 2000s culture, slice of life , shonen manga, and music. I want to tackle themes like connection, identity, overcoming trauma, and I want to capture the beauty of daily life.
As you can read, it's a project that has been crammed with all sorts of elements that fascinate me; no wonder it will never be finished. if you have questions about it, feel free to ask, but know that the answer will probably be different next time.

Around 2020 I discovered After Effects, and how it could be used to animate images. I pushed this a bit further in 2021, when I learned about 3d layers. This would lead to some small animation experiments made for BoundWave (which was named LockBound back then).
